Don Carlos not lonely anymore! Meet Angelo, Lily and little Rowena – our three new Suri Alpacas!

In a truly tranquil surrounding far out of The Village. Excellent stay for city slicking families so the kids can experience that milk, eggs and other agricultural products are not produced in the supermarket …. 😀 😀 😀

Landmeterskop Farm Cottages

Meet Angelo, Lily and little Rowena!

IMG_1673

Last week we bought three Suri Alpacas – Angelo (the guy with the very hairy legs and log fringe), Lily and little Rowena who is still on the bottle. When she is all grown-up, Don Carlos might just find himself a beautiful wife! The little family are all settling in nicely on Landmeterskop, getting used to their new environment and meeting some of the other inhabitants of the farm. This weekend before all our guests arrived, Valerie still had to trim their fringes so that they could at least look our guests in the eye! To learn more about Alpacas and the difference between the Huacaya, like our Don Carlos, and Suri Alpacas, read here: http://landmeterskop.com/2013/10/07/meet-don-carlos-a-chilean-noble-now-guarding-sheep-in-the-overberg/

Did some shooting this morning at the village fair. It was busy and there were a few nice old timers on display.

Weekend greetings from the winged

(Pity that we never see the local birdwatchers early in the morning where all the birds are …. instead -average once per month- we see them in the ‘bird watchers lodge’ along Die Vlei; situated on a spot where there are hardly any winged friends on display. These are just around the corner …)
