… but always on the way if you want a real farmer’s breakfast or lunch in the Overberg region in the Western Cape, South Africa. After a 2-week break the restaurant doors open this Wednesday 3 June again and everybody is welcome to enjoy a hearty meal; enjoy the landscape, our livestock, the land and the gardens; watching birds, chill along the dam, taste mead, buy home made take-aways, meet Marley the farm/restaurant dog, buy or just admire the art, etc. etc..
When you find somebody on the way in South Africa collecting stones and soil it’s probably me. I use soil and crushed stones for my jewellery. There is such a rich diversity in soil and stone colours that I collected over 1000 different samples. Have a look in this gallery and if you are in Cape Town; in these places you can buy them. Unless you are on the way to Stanford, 125 km East of the Mother City, you can contact me for an appointment.
Ain’t I shameless … uh!
Gotta love this farm!!!
While we were away for a few weeks our staff did a tremendous nice job. New fences, weeding in garden, planting crops and above all looking after all those sheep during the baby boom. 45 Lambs the past week! Special thanks to our shepherd Koos (see insert main picture) who kept a day and night watch; helping incidental ewes with delivery problems and looking after all the newborns as if these are his own children.
