Weekend Greetings from Tesselaarsdal

What a beautiful morning in The Overberg

At the Wokini Market

The ‘closing event’ of the Napier Patatfees (Napier Sweet Potato Festival) was the art-, craft- and food market at Wokini; a few kilometers out of Napier.

Enjoying the finishing bikers and (half) marathon runners plus the festivities around it this morning. It was busy! Cape Town must have been empty today (😀😀😀 ). Around 40 pictures to big you in the mood for next year.

Photo-shooting at the Parade

In our village they celebrate annually the sweet potato (“patat”) harvest although not many sweet potatoes are grown in this area anymore. The tradition sticks and part of the celebration during the ‘Napier Patatfees’ is the Friday Parade. This afternoon I made a few shots. Enjoy!

Scarecrow weekend (“Patatfees”) in Napier

Numerous scarecrows along the main road in Napier this weekend. Some are real pieces of art. It’s ‘Patatfees’ in case you forgot.

The Americas may have the ‘Grand Rapids’ and the Niagara Falls; here in the little town of Napier in the Western Cape, South Africa we have the Napier Rapids and the Napier Falls. Both are impressive in their own right. Right? Right!
