Made these picture during the Dog Show yesterday. Before the dog show was a horse show and the dogs were very distracted by the horse droppings so all did not go that smooth with the dogs and you can’t blame these animals for that. Very impressive to see the interaction between dogs and their ‘bosses’.
Many privileged South Africans live very secluded behind big walls and steel bars. In our village there is no more crime than in similar villages where-ever in the world and the fencing looks more friendly. Occasionally even eco-friendly as this fence of woven myrtle wood. The owner recently erected this fence to keep his dog inside and he planted some creepers that have to cover the wood in due time.
Our dog loves to watch ducks and luckily we live nearby ‘Die Vlei’ where plenty of them and other winged animals live. During the weekend of October 6 there is the traditional annual bird fair in Stanford and this year the organizers try to get everything out of it. The local municipality is even constructing a bird watchers jetty in ‘Die Vlei’. Besides the bird related festivities there are many other events planned for that weekend including those for children and food and wine lovers.
